about us

How we started and who we've become

The Mind/Body Institute was founded in 2021 by Christine Moran (Martin) with the belief that healing is a deeply personal journey, unique to each individual. Christine’s vision centered on helping patients uncover and address the root causes of their psychological and emotional challenges, guiding them towards healthier coping mechanisms and more fulfilling relationships.

Today, Christine is joined by her husband, Derrick Martin, and together they have become trusted experts in the field of trauma-focused mental health. At the core of their philosophy is the conviction that everyone has the potential to transcend the limitations imposed by their painful experiences and restore balance in their lives.

Their holistic approach integrates cutting-edge treatment methods, including EMDR therapy and Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy, which are grounded in the latest behavioral health and neuroscience research. These methods are complemented by mindfulness and relaxation exercises, as well as somatic awareness techniques. With a client-centered, strengths-based approach, they meet each individual where they are, working collaboratively to design and implement customized treatment plans that empower patients to achieve their goals.

The Mind/Body Institute is dedicated to helping patients reconnect with themselves and their inner experiences, fostering deeper growth and healing at the levels of mind, body, and spirit. They believe that social connection and supportive relationships are vital to overall wellness, and emphasize the importance of these elements in the healing process.

Christine and Derrick understand that one of the most crucial factors in achieving lasting change through therapy is the quality of the relationship between the client and therapist. They liken this relationship to the foundation of a sturdy house—built on empathy, authenticity, and trust. As therapists, they see themselves as guides on their clients’ journeys, offering support and encouragement as they discover their strengths, overcome barriers to change, and build an inner reservoir of courage and resilience.

At the Mind/Body Institute, the goal is not just to heal; it’s to thrive. Here, every patient’s journey is honored, and every step towards healing is celebrated.
